Val-d'Or Gold Camp, Québec
In 2019, Kiboko entered into an option agreement to earn up to a 90% interest in the Fontana Gold Project.
The Fontana project consists of a large, 100-square kilometre land package that has been recently consolidated. Fontana represents a district-scale opportunity in an under-explored area in the heart of the prolific Archean-aged Abitibi greenstone belt, which has produced more than 200 million ounces of gold. The project is located 15 kilometres east of Amos, Québec in the Val-d'Or Gold Camp, which has produced more than 40 million ounces of gold and is currently Canada's highest gold producing region.
The project has a tremendous quantity of high-value historic data ranging from small-scale high-grade mining to exploration drilling. This data includes detailed geophysics and geochemistry datasets, plus more than 130,000 metres of drilling from 865 diamond drill holes, which has only recently been digitized.
The Fontana project is road accessible all year round and is adjacent to the highway, power grid, rail, and established mining communities.
